Who is eligible for the subsidized program?
Community members based in Providence and Pawtucket who own dogs or cats and require pet care services but cannot afford them.

How are the recipients chosen?
Recipients of subsidized services are chosen at the discretion of Community Pet Care. They are selected by considering the applicant's access to resources, physical condition, pet's needs, and capacity to take on clients. Please note that a limited number of slots are open, but we are doing our best to match those in need with services.
 

How much do I pay for pet care services if accepted into the subsidized program?
Nothing! Recipients of the program receive all agreed-upon services for no charge.
 

What is the application process?

​Step 1: All candidates are required to complete an application. Please do your best to complete as much of the information as possible and as accurately as possible. If you need assistance completing the application, please email us at commpetcare@gmail.com.

Step 2: Our team will review your application and a team member will do their best to respond to your application within 48 hours.

 

Step 3: A brief 15-minute phone interview to better understand your needs and clarify any missing information.

Step 4: A 15-minute Meet and Greet at your home, where you and your pet will meet your pet professional. This is a great opportunity to make sure that the personalities match and that all care communication is clear.

Step 5: Review our basic service terms with a team member. Answer any lingering service questions and arrange the pet service schedule.

Step 6: Enrollment is complete! Your pet's care is now booked for the pre-determined FREE visits.

 

How many services is an individual eligible for?

At this time, applicants are welcome to apply for as many services as they want. However, the availability of donated services depends on the availability of donated funds. Applicants may reapply for services as often as needed. We will update this policy in response to demand as this program develops.​

 

I am in an emergency situation and need pet care today!

We wish we could have an emergency line and response team for these situations. We have visions for a future where this is possible. We will do our best to get back to you within 48 hours.

 

Please note that we will be closed for vacation Friday 6/28/24 to Wednesday 7/3/24 and Thursday 7/25/24 to Wednesday 7/31/24, inquiries received during these times will experience longer response times than usual. Thank you for understanding!
